Full electrical design

What it is

The electrics tab picks the inverter and lays the panels out in strings, automatically or by hand. For each MPPT input it checks the open-circuit voltage at frost, the operating voltage window, the current and the DC/AC ratio; separately the grid connection, the DC cable and lightning protection. The list of cables, protection and equipment with prices goes into the estimate, and the yield tab shows the output by month, the savings and the payback.

How to use it

   Choose the inverter type (grid, hybrid or off-grid), the battery and the number of supply phases.

   Use the automatic layout or add inverters and strings by hand — Solispec marks every problem with an explanation.

   Check the electrical list in the estimate and the payback in the yield tab.

Why it matters to an installer

A string mistake means an inverter that shuts down in winter or protection that fails. Checking before you buy is cheaper than sending the crew back, and the estimate includes everything down to the last connector.

Start and the paid plans

On Start the electrics are an estimate: the overall verdict, the site checks, how many panels each system has connected and the priced electrical and equipment list in the estimate. The inverters with their strings per MPPT input, their voltages and currents, editing the strings by hand and the equipment drawings (also in the PDF) come with Pro, Business and White Label.
