Cookie Policy

Draft. This document is a draft prepared by the Solispec development team and is under review by a lawyer. It is not yet in force. Translations are provided for convenience; if a translation differs from the English version, the English version prevails.

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains which cookies and similar browser storage solispec.com uses. Cookies are small files stored by your browser; local storage and session storage are similar browser features that keep data on your device. More about how we process personal data is in the Privacy Policy.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

These are needed for the site to work and do not require consent.

• Sign-in session cookie (Better Auth) — keeps you signed in. It is httpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it. Duration: 30 days, renewed while you are active.
• solispec_consent — records your cookie choice so we do not ask again. It contains no identifier. Duration: 180 days.

3. Functional browser storage

We keep preferences and work in progress in your browser's local storage and session storage. These entries are strictly necessary for the functions you use and do not require consent. They stay on your device and are not sent to us, except when you move a guest project into an account or save a project.

Local storage (kept in your browser until you or the site delete it):

• solispec:theme — your light or dark theme.
• solispec:wizard:seen — whether the introductory wizard has already been shown.
• solispec:cab:view — whether the account area shows cards or a table.
• solispec:guest:v1 — your guest project, until you move it into an account.
• solispec:guest:declined — that you declined to move the guest project into an account.
• solispec:unsaved:[project] — unsaved edits to a project that are waiting to be saved, so they are not lost if the page closes.
• solispec:3d — your 3D view preferences.
• solispec:geo:[key] — a cache of address-search results and building data loaded from the map, so the same lookups are not repeated.
• solispec:mapbox — your own Mapbox token, only if you enter one. It is never sent to us.

Session storage (cleared when you close the tab):

• solispec:tab:[system] — which tab is open for each system.

4. Analytics cookies (only with consent)

If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

• _ga and _ga_[ID] — distinguish visits and sessions. Duration: up to 2 years.

We use Google Consent Mode v2: analytics cookies are not set until you consent. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google may process the data outside the EU, relying on its own safeguards.

5. Third-party map services

When you use maps or address search, your browser connects directly to OpenStreetMap/Nominatim and map tile providers (and to Mapbox if you use your own token). These providers may receive your IP address and may use their own technologies under their own policies.

6. Your choice

You can accept or reject analytics when you first visit. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie settings in the site footer. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings; this will sign you out and delete any guest project stored in the browser.
